Auscript Supports Legal Profession BreakfastJessika Marek
Auscript was a major sponsor at the annual Legal Profession Breakfast held at Brisbane City Hall recently, featuring keynote speakers Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO and journalist Stan Grant from the ABC.
The breakfast was in support of Women’s Legal Service, a community legal centre that provides free legal and social work services to Queensland women and their children, who are experiencing domestic violence and complex family matters.
Seven hundred and seventy legal professionals from throughout Queensland attended the breakfast, including several Auscript team members accompanied by some of our legal clients from Clayton Utz, Russo Lawyers, and Ashurst.
Women’s Legal Service Fundraising Manager Natalie Davidson said the breakfast is one of the most supported and anticipated legal events of the year.
“Auscript is a key supporter of Women’s Legal Service, being a major sponsor at the annual breakfast for the past three years,” Ms Davidson said.
“Every year more than 11,000 women and 18,000 children receive free legal and vital welfare help from Women’s Legal Service.”
“However, with the rates of violence increasing, our helpline is only able to answer 50% of calls, making fundraising events like this breakfast so important in ensuring we can continue to expand our operation and help more in need,” said Ms Davidson.
With $103,000 raised from the breakfast, Auscript is proud to have supported this important event and remains dedicated to working with Women’s Legal Service to raise funds and awareness for the prevention of domestic violence.
